CARLOS A. DUART

Carlos Duart is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CDR Companies, Inc., a diversified enterprise supporting infrastructure, emergency response, healthcare operations, and project finance services in partnership with federal, state, and local agencies across multiple states. He has built and scaled the organization into a multi-sector platform capable of executing complex public-sector initiatives at scale.

Duart began his career in accounting and financial management, including time at Price Waterhouse LLP, before moving into leadership roles within engineering and infrastructure organizations. His background combines financial discipline with operational execution across large-scale, time-sensitive projects.

Over the course of his career, Duart has overseen disaster response and recovery efforts involving more than $10 billion in damages and contributed to more than $20 billion in engineering and infrastructure projects. His experience includes debris removal operations, emergency management services, large-scale recovery efforts following hurricanes, floods, and other natural disasters, as well as major interstate highway and bridge construction.

As Chairman and President of Metric Engineering Group, Inc., Duart led operations, business development, and strategic growth, expanding the organization through multiple acquisitions, including CDR Maguire, and extending its capabilities into emergency management, Intelligent Transportation Systems, and international operations. The firm’s work included projects funded by the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank across South and Central America and the Caribbean.

Since founding CDR Companies in 2009, Duart has built an organization designed to operate in complex, high-pressure environments, integrating infrastructure delivery, engineering, logistics, and rapid deployment to support large-scale public-sector initiatives.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Taxation from Florida International University and has completed executive education at Harvard Business School.

Duart has been recognized for his professional and civic contributions, including induction into Florida International University’s Business School Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame and receipt of both the Outstanding Alumnus Medallion and Torch Award. He and Tina Vidal-Duart were also honored with the American Cancer Society of South Florida’s Legendary Couple Award. He previously served on the Florida International University Foundation Board of Directors and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
