CDR Maguire is the Construction Manager for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission’s entire Southern Beltway expansion from SR 22 to I-79 in Allegheny and Washington Counties. Divided into to seven, separate contracts, the project includes over 13 miles of new concrete mainline roadway, 16 mainline bridges, 8 local bridges, 4 interstate bridges, 30 major culvert structures, 5 interchanges, utility relocations, wetland mitigation, construction of a maintenance facility, installation of cashless tolling, signing, and pavement markings. The Southern Beltway is scheduled to open to traffic in late 2021 with work on the final ramps near I-79 scheduled for completion in 2022. The Southern Beltway is the first totally new highway being built in the region in decades.
