Delivering solutions that move people, CDR Maguire Engineering has been awarded a $17 million contract for the Bus Rapid Transit system (BRT). Along with teaming partners SAI Consulting Engineers, Inc; Management Engineering Corporation; Monaloh Basin Engineers; Sheree B Thomas and Associates; Rig Consulting, Inc; and John J. Clark and Associates, Inc., CDR will be providing Construction Management/Construction Inspection for the Port Authority of Pittsburgh’s BRT.
The BRT will provide rapid bus transit between downtown Pittsburgh and Oakland, with services in three directions—toward Oakland-East, Highland Park, and Squirrel Hill. In development for the past 7 years, and once completed, the BRT will provide better transportation options for the Pittsburgh region, as well as contribute to building a stronger community.
Construction Management will be led by Steve Shadle, PE, Vice President CM/CI (CDR Maguire) and Joe Evanko, PE, Vice President (CDR Maguire). CDR has managed and inspected construction projects as small as $100,000—to a multi-phase new expressway corridor as large as $780M—and they bring an experienced group of inspectors to this project.
”CDR Maguire is excited to be the Construction Manager for this vital transit improvement serving the City of Pittsburgh. We want to thank Port Authority of Allegheny County for their trust in CDR to help deliver this important project,” said Steve Shadle, Vice President CM/CI for CDR Maguire.
